Public Announcement from HK Offroad Regarding COVID-19

Public Statement Regarding Covid-19.

This is a national emergency and we all have our personal thoughts regarding this matter and how we are dealing with it. No doubt it is affecting all of our daily lives and business. For us at HK Offroad it is business as usual and we are continuing to build and design. All orders will be fulfilled as discussed in our personal text messages.

During this time we are taking the necessary precautionary steps to ensure the safety of our fellow Jeepers waiting on their parts and our own safety. We are regularly washing our hands and wiping down all our work stations and tools with disinfecting wipes including our machinery. During packaging we are wiping down the finished material with Clorox Disinfecting Wipes and handling the boxes, hardware, foam wrap and saran wrap with gloves and face masks on. None of us here are infected, we are simply taking precaution and everyone's health and safety very seriously.

We have been researching how long the Corona Virus can live on surfaces such as steel, plastic and cardboard. We advise when receiving the item to handle the box wearing gloves, it is only the smart thing to do. Leaving the box out in sunlight is also another method to ensure packages are clean of any virus.

"Ultraviolet light can be a really powerful disinfectant and we get a lot of UVA light from the sun," says Daniel Kuritzkes an infectious disease expert at Brigham and Women's Hospital. "Direct sunlight can help rapidly diminish infectivity of viruses on surfaces," he says..

Although we are unable to control who touches our packages once picked up by UPS, we have received a statement from UPS regarding their part.

"UPS is following the guidance of global health experts at the World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are reminding our employees about frequent hand washing, and we are regularly cleaning and disinfecting our facilities and equipment. Importantly, we are asking that our drivers, pilots, and other employees stay home from work if they feel sick.

Many people are asking the same question: is it safe to receive and handle a shipment? The WHO and CDC have stated that the likelihood of catching the COVID-19 virus by touching cardboard or other another shipping container is low.

From the outset, UPS has maintained delivery services except where limited by government restrictions. We have also worked in partnership with governments around the world to obtain exceptions that allow our shipments to continue in restricted areas."

For anyone who has been directly affected by this difficult time, we offer our prayers to you and your family and pray you get through this and back to you normal life soon.

All in all we hope you take this time to enjoy your families company and just live your lives as much as you can, just be careful. Get out there into the woods and do what we love take nature in, that's where we are safest anyway. Or better yet, fix your damn Jeep already, it's time to drive it!
