Glissade - Rocker Replacement Sliders for the Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ (1999 - 2004).
Currently only available for the WJ. These rock sliders are built for extreme off-roading situations (see video for demo). Used as sliders to get over obstacles and steps to make it easier to reach your roof from the side of your vehicle. Cutting of the outer rocker panel is required. You DO NOT need to cut the pinch seam nor do they mount to the pinch seam. The pinch seam is NOT used in this application. Once you cut out the outer rocker panel, the pinch seam is bent upwards using a pair of heavy duty pliers or pipe wrench. We have a youtube video below showing what to cut and you can do this in your driveway with an extra pair of helping hands.
We considered several important factors when designing our rock sliders. 1) By the time a WJ owner decides it's time for rock sliders, your rocker panels are either destroyed from offroading or rusted away from road salt. Our mounting system utilizes areas where most rockers panels are still in tact and strengthen the rocker area of your WJ. 2) High clearance! 3) Quality Build with quality steel. These are not cheap and building them takes quite the work.
Can be installed at home, in your driveway with an extra pair of hands and proper tools such as an impact drill (NOT impact wrench) and angle grinder.

Mounting system: Mounts to frame rails with three 1" x 2" x .120 wall tube brackets welded to the sliders, using twelve self tapping hex screws and across unibody using two cold roll steel bars to sandwich the unibody with ten grade-8 nuts and bolts.
Cutting of the outer rocker panel is required. You do NOT cut the unibody pinch seam nor does the slider mount to it. If your pinch seam is destroyed, it's OK, you don't need it.

If you add the optional Frame Kickers at time of ordering, the frame kickers and plates will arrive un-welded so you can customize to your own vehicle's frame/unibody as needed.
A lot more 4x4 owners nowadays are purchasing 2x6 tubes and welding them in the place of their rockers or building their own rock sliders, but taking many shortcuts in design. We've decided to become your supplier for the 2x6 tubes for every do-it-your-selfer out there who would like to build their own. From Jeep Cherokees, Grand Cherokees, Wranglers, Toyota Tacomas, FJ Cruisers, 4-Runners etc. We DO NOT provide any instructions on how to weld these sliders or where to cut on your vehicle. This is 100% do-it-yourself kit, all we're doing is supplying the steel with the double tapered ends finished and the high-lift jacking notches under the slider welded in.
If you need frame kickers we can provide those as well for an extra charge at $16 per kicker. The frame kickers will be 1" x 2" x .120 rectangle tubes at 10" length and 1/4" flat rectangle plates with four holes on the corner. If adding frame-kickers you would want to have at least two on each slider, but three per slider is preferred.
In summary, instead of you having to visit your local steel yard and purchase 2"x6" tubes (if they have it in stock) then spend all those hours welding the ends and trying to form a slider then prepping for install only to end up with a basic slider, you'll buy from us and receive our double tapered smooth ends with the high lift jacking points all prepped ready to weld up to your vehicle. The Challenge: To build a one piece high clearance rock slider which will protect the body side panels, are true flat bottom sliders with no obstruction, are full steps, have high-lift jacking points, is body mounted and are just as strong, durable and rigid as frame-welded sliders. Does that make sense or should we type it again? You probably just did a double take...
We are honored and pleased to say our "Glissade Extreme" one piece rock sliders for the JKU passed our torture test and are now in production. All the body side panels and body-to-frame mounts are plasma cut and the 2" x 6" x 1.88 wall tubes are hand built in our shop. We will update this page as we progress with the build so please check back often.
One piece design with 19 mounting points
Thirteen riv-nuts and bolts attach the body side panel to the body
Three 3/8" thick plates welded to the slider mounts to the body-to-frame mounts
Four additional bolts mount the Jeeps body pinch seam to the inside of the slider for additional support.
The body side panel is constructed of 3/16" plate and the 2x6 slider is constructed of 2" x 6" x .188 wall tubes and welded together for a one-piece design with seven 3/16" cold rolled gussets welded and supporting the slider and body panel for added impact support when you come down hard on the edge of the slider.

After testing and bouncing this JK on 40's off the boulders on John Bull Trail was passed, we removed the slider from the Jeep to inspect any body damage; no damage found. The sliders protected the Jeeps body and our body mounted design saved you from having to weld sliders to your frame.
