There's a feeling of ease and comfort knowing you are ready for self recovery incase you should get the truck stuck somewhere. Designed and engineered by folks who understand the needs of rigidity and durability in a recovery situation because not all recovery situations are a simple "I'll winch forward" scenario. With the Tacoma's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 5,600lbs, there's no room for underbuilt recovery equipment. Our hidden winch mount tucks neatly behind the factory bumper fascia keeping your winch away from the elements. Designed for 12,500lbs+ winches but any winch with less pulling power can be mounted. We recommend 12,500lbs winch minimum for your Tacoma.

Fitment: 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner (behind factory plastic bumper fascia)
Construction: 100% domestic steel: ¼″ base plate for winch mounting, with surrounding plates & gussets fabricated from 3⁄16″ steel.
Mounting: 100% bolt-on—works with your factory mounting points (10 factory mounts, 5 per side).
Winch compatibility: Accepts standard winches with 10″ × 4.5″ mounting pattern.

Since the winch clutch release lever (or solenoid) needs access, you’ll need to cut a small access point in the plastic cover under the hood (not the fascia). Many choose this method so the front appearance remains untouched. HK Offroad
