The Tacoma's frontend is good looking from factory and there's so much room behind the factory bumper fascia. Not all of us "need" a full steel bumper. There's a feeling of ease and comfort knowing you are ready for self recovery incase you should get the truck stuck somewhere. Designed and engineered by folks who understand the needs of rigidity and durability in a recovery situation because not all recovery situations are a simple "I'll winch forward" scenario. With the Tacoma's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 5,600lbs, there's no room for underbuilt recovery equipment. Our hidden winch mount tucks neatly behind the factory bumper fascia keeping your winch away from the elements. Designed for 12,500lbs+ winches but any winch with less pulling power can be mounted. We recommend 12,500lbs winch minimum for your Tacoma.

Your Toyota 4-Runner has a GVWR of 6,100-lbs. Our winch mount weighs 58-lbs and constructed in a Heavy Duty fashion, gusseted and reinforced accordingly.  When your truck is that heavy, you can't take chances with underbuilt winch mounts because when the time comes to recover your rig when your stuck to its frame in mud, reliability of recovery gear is critical. This is the same winch mount design from our Lexus GX series which have been used and abused throughout the States, well proven solid mounting pattern and design. We are now happy to offer it to our 4-runner crowd who wish to retain the factory bumper fascia. Winch plate is mounted parallel to your frame which is the best pulling point.

• Owner of vehicle must decide where to cut a hole in the either in thr bumper fascia, grill or plastic cover under hood to access winch clutch release lever and/or solenoid. There are winches out now which release the clutch by remote and operate wirelessly if you decide to go that fancy route. We cut a hole into the plastic cover under the hood and easily accessed the lever. There's no reason to actually cut that beautiful bumper, just access it under the hood (see photo)
